Become Your Own Best Self

Most leaders try to change the world by changing everything around them.

Dee Hock saw it differently. He believed the hardest and most important work is internal.

He famously said that the greatest achievement in life is to become your own best self… and that nothing external can help with that.

This wasn’t theory for Hock.

He understood that the greatest influence doesn’t come from controlling people, but from being the space in which others are free to lead themselves—unaffected by external noise or circumstances.

When we start there, everything else changes.
